3 Kinds of Pools That You May Want to Consider Installing

Pools

There are three kinds of pools you’re likely to see: concrete, vinyl-lined, and fiberglass.

If you’ve got the space and resources, there is good reason to consider installing your own pool. It’s one of the many benefits of owning your own home and having property, though it also comes with a good deal of responsibility. After all, installing a pool is a big decision, one that requires plenty of forethought and research. Before you even get started with the design phase, you must understand what kinds of pools are out there; typically, the three kinds we see are fiberglass, concrete, and vinyl-lined.

Concrete Pools

Using concrete allows you to get creative and truly take customization into your own hands. If you want something that’s totally unique and won’t look like anything else on your block, you may want to go with concrete. Since concrete is poured, it allows you to make a pool of any size or shape. That said, concrete pool installations also take much longer than other materials. However, the benefits may still be big enough to convince you: remember that concrete is a strong material, leaving you with a durable pool that can stand the test of the elements.

Vinyl-Lined

In contrast to the endless possibilities brought about by using concrete, vinyl-lined pools can be a little more strict in terms of how customized they can be. They’re made out of a preformed flexible liner, which also means you run the risk of damages from sharp objects if they were to find their way into the pool. Vinyl-lined pools are typically very affordable, easy to repair, and quick to install, though not the best choice if you don’t want to deal with much maintenance or want a custom look.

Using Fiberglass

Fiberglass is the least customizable material out there because they’re pre-made in a factory and molded into bowl-like structured. A crane needs to be used to install that fiberglass into an excavated hole. They may be limited in terms of colors, shapes, and sizes, but their smooth gel is durable, stain-resistant, and great if you have kids. Fiberglass pools need to be shipped via truck, though, so it may take a while for one to be installed.
